Do I Need A Certificate For Exporting To Tanzania?

Every consignment of Regulated Products exported to Tanzania requires a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for clearance by Customs at the Tanzanian Ports and Borders.

The Regulated Products shall comply with the Tanzanian Essential Requirements, Technical Regulations and approved Standards prior to their export to Tanzania. The list of Regulated Product categories includes but not limited to the below:

Toys
Electrical & Electronics
Automotive
Chemical
Mechanical
Gas Appliances
Mosquito Nets
Safety Protective Equipment
Food products
Textiles
Kitchenware and Dinnerware
Used products

Exempted, Prohibited and Restricted Products under Tanzania PVoC

Exporters are advised to verify in the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) website for an updated and complete list of Excluded, Prohibited, and Restricted Products.

Note that the below list of exempted products may be subjected to Destination Inspection by TBS on its arrival at Tanzanian Ports and Borders.
